This book is not a roman à clef, though I am using my real name and some real names of friends, acquaintances, and associates.  It is said that a first novel is always autobiographical. This novel, or rather chronological collection of short stories, is not, unless the events described occurred in a parallel universe.  It is possible that the plot details actually came to me from a wormhole in my brain connecting me to one of those universes.  It definitely comes from somewhere beyond certain memory and recorded history. Source material includes dream fragments, overheard conversations, false memories, fantasies, roads not taken, and incidents from other people’s lives. Some characters are real, many are mashups of two or more people, and more than a few are pure invention.
